My dear friend, Lisa Lurie, Founder of Cancer Be Glammed, and I chatted about how I needed to create a new skincare regimen. After intense radiation treatments years ago and now a jawbone replacement surgery my skin was in dire need of some TLC. To my surprise and absolute delight, Lisa and Maxine Shangold, BeautyCounter consultant for CBG, sent me an enormous gift box of BeautyCounter products!
With two young children, work, and all things life, my usual skincare routine every morning entailed splashing cold water on my face, putting on sunscreen, mascara, and lip gloss in under two minutes. Every night, I wash my face with Dove Liquid soap and apply a little bit of coconut oil all over my face and neck in less than two minutes. Now thanks to Lisa and Maxine for BC products it was time to change it up and try something new!
The packaging of each product is stunning. The textures and smells of each product are pleasantly fresh and subtle compared to other “natural or organic” brands where the aroma is simply dreadful or simply overpowering. Each oil, cream, and cleanser are rich, creamy and soothing.
The following is the list of products I was given:
-
BeautyCounter Counterstart Cococream Cleanser
-
BeautyCounter Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm
-
BeautyCounter Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion
-
BeautyCounter No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil
-
BeautyCounter All Bright C Serum
-
BeautyCounter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20
-
BeautyCounter Charcoal Facial Mask
My new morning and evening routine takes five minutes. I begin washing my face with warm water and BC Counterstart Cococream Cleanser and then splash cold water on my face. Next, I place BC Countermarch Adaptive Moisture Lotion. Followed by BC Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF. I put on mascara, lip gloss and go!
In the evening, I wash my face with BC Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm. Two evenings a week, after washing my face I use the BC Charcoal Facial Mask and let that sit for 10 minutes. I then rinse the mask off with warm water and end with splashing cold water on my face. Last, I rotate nightly between the All Bright C Serum or the No.1 Brightening Facial Oil.
In a matter of two weeks, my skin transformed. The large black pore abysses scattered throughout my T zone vanished. My dry and dull skin became soft, hydrated, and glowing. The wrinkles around my eyes or what I refer to as smile lines decreased in appearance. The tinted sunscreen protected my very pale, sensitive skin and new scars perfectly.
My only negative comment about BeautyCounter is the expense of each product. Therefore, I turned to my sister Ashley, in search of trying other less expensive organic skincare products. Ashley is my personal guru for all thing’s skincare, vitamins, and holistic remedies. She worked for Natural Retail Group and was awarded the best in sales for her exceptional knowledge of various premium brands on the market and the corresponding benefits of each product. Her skincare recommendations comparable to BeautyCounter are:
BeautyCounter Cleansing Balm $80 dollars compared to Trilogy Make-Up-Be Gone Cleansing Balm $ 34 dollars and Fleur and Bee Facial Cleanser $18.
BeautyCounter No1,2,3 Facial Oils $69 dollars compared to Acure Argan Oil $13 dollars, Trilogy Organic Rose Hip Seed Oil $29 Dollars, Ann Marie Gianni Herbal Facial Oil $43 dollars, Evanhealy Pomegranate Repair Serum starting at $11.95 dollars and/ or Nectar of the C Serum $28 dollars.

BeautyCounter Charcoal Cleansing Bar $26 dollars compared to Herbivore Botanicals Bamboo Charcoal Soap $12 dollars and/or Fleur and Bee Prince Charcoal Detox Mask $18 dollars.
I am ecstatic with my transformative and glowing skincare results after using BeautyCounter products. Though, after trying several of the other comparable products recommended by Ashley, I am equally pleased with the results and quality. I highly recommend trying any of the products mentioned above to find what works best for you.
